Education and Experience

Alicia is a Developmentalist, Educator, Reiki Master Therapist, Writer, Spiritualist and Researcher. She is the Co-Founder of Crystal Reflections LLC, the Educational Director of Crystal Reflections’ Healers Preparation Program and the facilitator of Crystal Reflections’ Spiritual Retreats. She is a contributing writer to NewLife NewYork Yoga Magazine, Creations Magazine and Natural Awakening Magazine.

Education: Alicia has a Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology from the renowned Columbia University. It is there she received her training as a Researcher as well gained an in-depth knowledge of developmental issues of adults. Alicia also has a Master of Education from the Prestigious Bank Street College in Education. She was trained to be a reflective educator with the emphasis of using the mind, experience and observation to gain a deeper understanding of self and others.

Alicia’s spiritual education is based upon the Native American cultural philosophy, where she received her initiation from and also several spiritual attunements while on the Navaho Reservation in Arizona. This development of the healer is an inward journey, of deep reflection, connection to spirit and seeing the self clearer. As Alicia experienced different healers, energy workers, spiritualists and psychics she gain in-depth knowledge of these practices and learned how to incorporate them within her own work. The Vision Retreats, where she fasted and stayed alone in the wilderness for days, with only water, proved to be profound in enabling her to be more connected to spirit within herself. Great insights were gained and powers of wisdom were bestowed upon her.

Experience: Alicia is the 7^th child out of 11 children. Being born in such a large family immediately bestows upon the child a sense of community, of sharing and being of service to self and others. Hardship during childhood isn’t unknown to Alicia. Born in an urban, dysfunctional family also exposed Alicia to a lot of the heartache and traumas children all over the world face. Her own journey of healing has endowed her with the knowledge, sensitivity and compassion for children who have been emotionally, psychological and physically abused.

Alicia helped to raise her younger siblings and then began to help raise her older siblings at the very early age of 10 years old. From there raising her relatives she moved to creating her own family as well as helping her friends with their children. Having been surrounded by children all of her life and having a deep understanding about their needs, desires and behaviors Alicia found it natural to be a teacher. She taught Kindergarten through Fourth grade.

Alicia’s experience coupled with her education in child development created a Master Teacher. As an educator she was foreword thinking in her beliefs and considered herself an advocate of the child. She created a strong belief that the well being of a child (his/her emotional and psychological wellness) comes first and foremost. This philosophy at times put her head to head with more traditional thinking, but her determination and a love for her students always proved undeniable to all. There was not a child placed in Alicia’s care that didn’t prosper and develop.

Once Alicia became a Master Teacher she began to venture out into more administrative roles. She worked as a Reading Specialist and then as a Math Specialist Coordinator for the NYC Board of Education. It was her job as Coordinator to assist and train her fellow co-workers in math techniques, classroom management and act as a model in incorporating higher level thinking modalities within the classroom. Alicia ran work shops, did testing analysis, worked one-on-one with teachers and with children in small group settings. Budget cuts propelled Alicia to move forward into her true life’s work. She left the Board of Education and enrolled full time to get her Master Degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University.

It was Alicia’s goals to become a Doctor of Psychology as a researcher focusing on the developmental issues of young children. It is here, however, Guidance came and steered her away from that goal. During an Astrological configuration (the Great Concordance – one of the preludes to the 2012 event) doors of spiritual opportunities and gifts were given to her. She was joined with all of the other thousands and thousands of other healers placed upon the earth to be of serve to humanity.

Alicia’s new insights and powers of ability opened up a whole new world for her. There became a profound shift in the way that Alicia saw the world, the Great Divine, others and herself. Now her life has come full circle and she is now implementing all of her past experiences, education, wisdom and spiritual powers into a cohesive whole.

Current Activities

Researcher: Alicia is currently conducting a study on Uterine Fibroids and its related symptoms, i.e., heaving bleeding and crapping. She is exploring the possibility of healing physical ailments from a spiritual/energy/emotional/psychological perspective. The research question is Can combining Psychotherapy counseling with Spiritual Energy work help to reduce or eliminate Uterine Fibroids and its related Symptoms i.e. heavy bleeding and crapping, within a six month period. The results of this study should be available to the public by the summer of 2010.

Educator: Her training and experience as Administrator has placed her as the Educational Director of Crystal Reflections Healers Preparation Program. Alicia has developed curriculum to help support new and existing healers on the issues they confront as alternative healing practitioners. The focus is to help practitioners gain more spiritual wisdom and power to heal, to implement sound marketing techniques within their practice to be successful entrepreneurs, to learn to protect themselves, to bring a deeper understanding of the spiritual powers they have been bestowed with and how to use these gifts for themselves and others.

Conscious of how important it is for everyone to have access to the type of spiritual healing available, Alicia has implemented within the Healers’ Program services to the public at affordable prices. The Practitioners coming from her program are available to give these services. Alicia supervises these interactions to ensure each client receives quality service as well as to assist the practitioners in creating sound, healthy and harmonious client/practitioner interactions.

Private Practice: Alicia’s combines, in her private practice, the effectiveness of psychotherapy counseling with the power of spiritual energy work. She uses various spiritual practices to help bring hers clients to states of awareness and healing. Her primary focus is on healing childhood wounds suffered during a person’s upbringing. She works on the soul level, connecting with the child within, often to gain a deeper understanding of a person’s motives, beliefs systems and world view.

When working with couples she employs the same perspective as when working individuals. Alicia believes it isn’t about the partner, but about the self. A person picks a partner for various reasons and these reasons must be explored and healed, if peace and harmony within a relationship is to be reached.

As a Spiritualist she holds the power of healing - unconditional love. She doesn’t provide judgment to a person’s actions or behaviors; she simply acts as a mirror showing the client who and what they are. It is up to the client to decide if they want to change. If they decide they do, she provides the guidance and support to help facilitate and implement deep transformation within the person. Her most famous comment to her new clients is: “If you like who you are but just want to be happier, then you have come to the wrong place. This work isn’t about you being the same just happier. This work is about deep change, transformative change: change that goes to the very depth of the soul, bringing the light of the Divine from within to shine out.”

Writer: With Alicia’s natal Virgo moon sitting right on top of her Pluto in the third house, Alicia cannot help but be a writer who focuses on powerful transformative and healing topics. Alicia is inspired to bring wisdom of the ages to the contemporary market. Her writings are base upon her experiences working with her clients, her own healing journey and wisdom she receives directly from Spirit. The emphasis of her writing is to provide knowledge, direction and support, which is concrete, precise and at times challenging to current popular views held by the general public. She is currently writing for several alternative health magazines on various topics of spiritual/psychological and emotional issues.

Spiritualist: As a Spiritualist, Alicia knows the importance of incorporating a number of spiritual practices to enhance, modify and empower oneself. The old ancient spiritual practices are just as powerful as they have been in the past, thus practicing and living by them has proven to be one of the main paths to her own spiritual wisdom and power. As a result, Alicia institutes various ancient spiritual practices to help her clients and students. One of the main events is the Spiritual Retreats she facilitates twice a year in Up State New York. The primary goal of these retreats is to enable the contemporary urban dweller the opportunity to engage in powerful spiritual experiences, without the heavy cost of time and money. Alicia’s belief is that as we all develop and grow spiritually along our chosen path, the once powerful ceremonies only enjoyed by the few, will be made available to everyone.

From her own personal experience she is aware of the deep transformative power these retreats can be. There is a deep connection one is capable of making to the Great Divine and with that contact, such wonderful things can happen.

Spiritual Retreats aren’t the only activities she employees. As a Spiritualist, who embraces many spiritual concepts from various cultures, she engages in an array of practices, such as meditation, soul journeying, soul retrieval etc… On thing is for sure these practices have proven to be highly effective within herself and for her clients and students.

Developmentalist: As the 7^th child out of eleven children, being around children is as natural to Alicia as breathing air. Not only did she have the benefit of learning about very young children from caring for her younger siblings, but caring for her nieces and nephews also imbedded within Alicia the hands on experience of the developmental milestones of children. During her formal education as an Educator and later as a Developmentalist, all of her early experiences coupled with her education made a complete package. So, how long has Alicia been working with children and their emotional/psychological issues? One can say all of her life!

As an Educator she was immediately seen as a “good teacher”, even though at that time she hadn’t gotten any formalized training. Once she began to attend Bank Street College, all of her experiences found a cognitive place within her own psychological make-up. Understanding the different stages of a child’s development, thoughts and contemporary psychological theories were now compared to the years of learning about children from her own hands on work.

These formal educational models became the blueprint to become a Master Teacher, where advocacy for the child’s point of view was her emphasis. Alicia knew from her vast store of knowledge that you can’t teach a child, who is unhappy, and she knew children naturally want to learn, so in her work she always emphasized a child’s emotionally wellness over academic. Her motto: If a child is happy in school with school, they will learn.

Now Alicia is employing all of the knowledge and ideas she has learnt about children, their cognitive, moral and emotional development to work with her clients and students on the soul level. She currently is incorporating the spiritual abilities of connecting to the child within, on the soul level, to bring understanding, love and healing to the adult. Alicia is able to make it clear to the adult how their thoughts and behaviors are inline with certain developmental trends common in young children. She is able to pinpoint the points of traumatic events experienced by the child and relate it to a person’s current behavior and psychological view of life.

This process has a tremendous impact upon the adult, because it empowers them to make the necessary changes to their thinking. At the same time Alicia is able to bring light into the early childhood experiences and heal from the soul’s deep level.

Spiritual Philosophy: Alicia has come across the question, what religion do you follow? Her response - All! It is her belief that all religions hold great wisdom and healing capacities. It is these beliefs and practices she gravitates towards. At the same time religions can embody beliefs and practices that no longer work for the contemporary person or in some cases can be in exact contradiction to their own more highly evolved spiritual laws.

Thus Alicia seeks out the truths that resonate with her; the ideas and beliefs and spiritual practices which she experiences and finds to hold wisdom and power. A lot of her own personal wisdom, however, has been gained from connecting directly to Source and seeking wisdom from that space. Again with that powerful Pluto sitting on her Moon and Moon nodes, seeking solicitude and doing inner reflective work is her path to her own enlightenment. She is aware, however, one can not heal all by ones self and so she does journey forth into the world from time to time to connect to other powerful people to receive wisdom, direction, healing and guidance.

Alicia is aware part of her purpose is to be a voice in the dark. To speak the wisdom of the ages to the contemporary audience in a language that can be understood. She follows spiritual laws as they are unfolded onto her through her own personal experiences, her clients and students. There are times, she is speaking wisdom, she herself has never reflected upon and it is those moments, she is just a voice, which spirit speaks through. She is at the same time aware she must follow these laws, she must not just speak about them but her own life must be a reflection of them, thus the endless struggle to ground her energy and life’s work in spiritual law instead of man’s law. This is a challenging enterprise, for it sometimes directly contradicts societies view points on very sensitive topics and issues, such as money, adultery, abuse of children, karma, revenge, forgiveness and even love.
